Pros: pci makes it useful unlike agp which is long dead
decent speed at the time but too slow now but can still be used for casual desktop stuff that doesn't require a lot of video muscle
still works now but I dont use it as its way out dated
Cons: fan stopped working after a a year or so
Pros: Cheap
Runs cool
Has VGA and DVI for older monitors
Cons: Not PCIe so other 8400 GS models kick this one's ***. A lot of times people include the product's specs in the cons. This doesn't make sense to me. I know this card doesn't have high core speeds and shaders and its not DDR5. If I needed that then I wouldn't have bought it. I am judging the product based on the purpose it was made for.
Overall Review: This card is made for NON-gamers. I am a gamer so its not for me. Its still a good card so I am not going to write a bad review. However it lags a little with Youtube, can't run non-video card intensive games like Team Fortress 2 over 10fps. I COULD be bottlenecking it with my computer hardware but I doubt it. World of Warcraft is the only thing I can tolerate. Runs 20-40 fps depending where I am at 1680x1050 res and low settings on everything. I don't need 60fps to pwn noobs :D
PC Specs:
Windows XP Pro SP3
500 watt PSU
2 x 1 GB DDR 333 MHz
Intel Pentium 4 2.66 on Intel i845g MB from a 2003 Dell

Pros: It's an nVidia card, so I'll never have driver compatibility issues.
Cons: It produces a bit of heat.
Pros: boosted computer performance! automatically detected on a dell 3000 motherboard with p4 3ghz 1.5gb ram. work great for older games before 2007. aero works great but windows 7 rates it 2.5 only. need for speed underground and psychonauts ran flawlessly! wolverine origins ran okay but not for newer games
Pny 8400 Gs Driver
Cons: darksiders was choppy to no end! if you plan to run newer games then get a new motherboard with a pci-e slot. pci is just too slow. won't do it. not a chance. don't test your luck. photoshop cs5 has a minor lag..
Overall Review: great packaging! came with extra clips. card look like it was just made. so fresh! download new drivers off the site and you'll be good. (don't forget to get direct x) great card for pci and can't get much better. not for heavy gamers but old games run great! i'm currently running it off a 250 psu and it's just fine for now. gonna upgrade to 300watts soon.
Pny Geforce
Pros: I didn" t="" bother="" with="" checking="" how="" many="" shaders="" it="" actually="" had="" in="" gpu-z,="" but="" 32="" would="" be="" great="" if="" the="" specs="" are="" listed="" correctly.="" handles="" 720p="" hd="" content="" and="" multiple="" displays="" fine="" for="" my="" customer.="">
Cons: Using a regular PCI slot means crippled bandwidth of course. Not all old computers have a better port to choose like AGP or PCI-Express ports.
Overall Review: The card works and isn't rediculously expensive although price:performance ratio is always going to be awful using a regular PCI slot. You deal with the hand that you are given.

Pros: works as expected and cheap!
Cons: doesnt do my laundry
Pros: For a PCI slot upgrade on a budget, this card hard to beat. Worked right out of the box on Win 7. Fan and 512MB in the $50 range, what's not to like? Using it primarily for Medieval2: TotalWar, which is pretty demanding on graphics memory to prevent lag.
Cons: Minor complaint, they sent two of the same optional brackets for the low profile housing. Made it fit with a little effort.
Overall Review: My computer guy thought I had an AGP slot, so my first order was for a similar PNY AGP card. New Egg handled my return and re-order very well and quickly.
Pros: Worked right out of the box. Installed it, plugged it in, turned it on and I could see again! This was installed into a Dell that had a burnt out integrated video chip. There was also no AGP port to use so it had to be PCI so this was the one. Also, you can't beat 512 MB ram and a cooling fan for the price! Very happy with it..
Cons: None so far.. and don't expect any. PNY has never let me down.
Overall Review: If you are using this card for the same reasons I did don't have the same brain fart.. Disable the driver for the integrated video BEFORE you install the driver for your new card. A duuuhhhh moment, don't let it happen to you!
